School’s out and summer is in! And what better way to spend some quality time with your family than organising full filled outings for everyone to enjoy. With so many different activities available to reserve, from having a relaxed weekend away at a glamping pad to battling out in an exhilarating match of paintball, it can be a little overwhelming to decide which ones to shell out some of your hard earned cash for. But, don’t worry, I’ve got you! To make things easier, here’s a rundown of the most popular family activities you should book on for this summer:
Visit the beach
This one’s going to obviously top the list, because it wouldn’t be a British summer without a trip to the beach, right? Grab your bucket, spade, windbreak and some change for a 99 ice cream and you’ve got a wonderful day full of memories with your loved ones! Blackpool is the most popular seaside town in the UK and undoubtedly one of Britain’s most iconic holiday resorts, so if you’re looking for a bustling scene with plenty to do for the family, it’s worth a visit. If you’re looking for a hidden gem, for some peace and quiet, why not visit West Wittering or Bamburgh, to enjoy the wetlands, reedbeds and grasses filled with butterflies and birds – they also make a great site for exploration and scenic views! For added sun protection and warmth for your little ones, be sure to shop high quality kids wetsuits!
Splashdown at a water park
Let’s be honest, British weather is very unpredictable, so if the weather is against you, but you’ve got a water baby or thrill seeker in the family, why not head to an indoor water park instead? The Sandcastle Waterpark in Blackpool is the UK’s largest water park heated to 29 degrees and with a whopping 250m long rollercoaster slide! Why not make a day out of it and book tickets to Alton Towers instead (with a small additional charge) to access the cool Carribean style indoor water park? Complete with water coasters, waterfalls and cannons, it’s great for kids of all ages!
Get up close with nature and take the family for a day of fishing! The Rushmore Lakes in Surrey is a fantastic destination for all abilities and kids are also welcome. From Roach, Perch as well as Carp and Chub, there’s a variety of species in stock, making for an interesting experience. If you’re looking to book a holiday for a couple of days, try Waldegraves Holiday Park as it also has four lakes on offer that stock a variety of high quality coarse fish maintained at the highest standards – just don’t forget to purchase the best bait for carp fishing!
Bounce to an inflatable park
Inflatable parks have blown up in popularity in the last couple of years and the sole reason for this is that they offer hours of fun for both adults and children alike! They make a great family day out to burn off some pent up steam and have exciting, unique courses to suit all age ranges. The best thing is there’s virtually one in every location, so you won’t have to travel far and they are pretty affordable too.
So, what are you waiting for?
Until next time.
