With lockdown restrictions easing, many of you will be planning to celebrate with a family reunion or catch up with friends. There may also be a belated birthday or wedding reception you’re looking forward to hosting at a special venue for that special touch. But, with so many different locations, it may be difficult to decide where to book for the ultimate dining experience. With Summer coming up, it may be particularly great to opt for a restaurant with outdoor seating to be able to fully bask in the glorious sunshine! If you’re looking for something in Yorkshire, here are my top three picks (take it from a local, you wouldn’t want to miss out!):
The Ivy Harrogate
The Ivy Harrogate is located in the heart of Harrogate and serves breakfast, weekend brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. It offers a sophisticated yet relaxed dining experience in bistro themed surroundings. Diners have the choice to be seated indoors to take pleasure in its retro styled interior, complete with mustard yellow seating paired with its blue walls which are covered in modern art. The high ceilings and large sky window is also pretty brilliant for letting in the natural sunlight and to give a light and airy feel! However, there’s also the option to be seated in the tranquil terrace garden with wicker chairs and marble tables. Its extensive menu and locally sourced ingredients also makes it one of the ideal venues for weddings.
If you’re looking for something a little more formal, Angelica offers a fine dining experience, complete with a dress code. This restaurant is located in the popular Trinity Leeds shopping and leisure complex, so it’s also pretty brilliant if you plan on doing a spot of shopping! Styled with gleaming modernised décor, this venue provides a cool, cosmopolitan vibe. It also boasts a wrap around outdoor terrace with mesmerising panoramic city views. Diners can choose a range of meals from the A La Carte Set Menu hearty mains as well as lighter options alongside show stopping desserts and a variety of exquisite drinks. Personally, I feel this option would be more suited for business meetings and formal gatherings.
For a laid back venue and a chilled environment, Franco Manca is the one to pick. If you’re a fan of pizza, then you’re definitely going to be in your element as it offers a range of freshly made to order sourdough pizzas which can be personalised to suit your dietary requirements. There’s also a variety of sides, salads and desserts to choose from alongside a set of drinks on the menu. With both outdoor and indoor seating paired with wooden furniture and large walls covered in a mirror display, Franco Manca delivers an intimate setting, making it perfect for brunch with a friend member or family (especially if you’re recuperating from a retail therapy session!)
If you’re still indecisive on which restaurant to book for your special occasion, SquareMeal offers a brilliant one click solution to finding your ideal venue from the many restaurants available to choose from in and around the UK depending on your needs and budget.
Until next time.
