2021 has gone by in a blink for me, and eventhough I’ve managed to accomplish most of what I wanted to do during one of the most difficult times of my life due to the ongoing pandemic, there’s still quite a bit which I’m hoping to do, especially in terms of looking after my wellbeing. So, without further ado, here’s what I’m hoping to focus on more in 2022:
Get adequate sleep
Last year I felt that there was simply not enough hours in the day to get my set tasks completed, and I felt like it was mostly down to my sleep cycle – I stayed up late trying to catch up with work and then slept in the next morning, only to feel completely out of sync and unmotivated. However, upgrading to a Simba Hybrid Mattress and changing to the pillowcases from the Palermo Bed Linen Collection by DUSK alongside the bedspread from the Montpellier Collection by DUSK has made sleeping much more comfortable due to its breathable 200 thread count 100% cotton percale. Plus, you can’t deny that it looks absolutely stunning too!
Eat a plant based diet
I’ve been playing around with the idea of going on a plant based diet for quite a while now, and I feel like 2022 is going to be the year! I’ll be honest, I initially thought a plant based diet consists of nothing but salad leaves, but supermarkets have such a wide range of plant based products in the market, it’s really very appealing. Not only is it so much more sustainable for our planet, but it’ll also save me a fortune when doing the food shop and not to mention it’s cruelty free!
It’s a norm for everyone to be glued to some sort of tech device nowadays, and I agree, it can be quite beneficial depending on the type of content you view. However, too much screen time can cause health problems, specifically on the eyes which is a definite no-no in the long term. I’ve decided to avoid any sort of screens an hour before bedtime and also to set specific timings for when I do work on my laptop to set an ideal work-life balance.
Maintain a positive mindset
As we’re going through the pandemic, it’s now more important than ever to stay positive and look to the future for mental wellbeing. I’m hoping to invest in some exercise equipment and start a regime at home as it’s proven to be a great way to boost the happy hormone. I’m also going to curate my social media platforms so I’m seeing more positive content.
I’ll be constantly reflecting back on these goals throughout the year to ensure I make my wellbeing a priority this year, and I urge you to do the same!
Until next time.
